Knocked-Out Permanent Tooth
If you have just dislodged a permanent tooth, try to locate it. Pick the tooth up by the crown and avoid touching the tooth roots. To keep the tooth moist, place it in a cup of cold milk to transport to our office. Dr. Bailey may be able to reattach the knocked-out tooth. However, if he is unable to reattach the tooth, Dr. Bailey can provide dental implants, dental bridges, or dentures. Implants are the gold standard for restoring missing teeth. They can also secure bridges and dentures for a longer-lasting restoration.
Toothaches and Dental Pain
Toothaches can be caused by a multitude of dental problems. Tooth decay, TMJ disorders, and dental injuries are all common causes of dental pain. If you have deep cracks or chips in your teeth, we can help repair the enamel with dental bonding or even a dental crown. Patients who experience tooth and jaw pain, or find themselves clenching their teeth may have a TMJ disorder. Toothaches may also be a sign that your tooth is infected. Even if the pain subsides, we will need to treat your tooth decay. At home, take over-the-counter pain medication to help reduce your pain. Object Stuck Between Teeth
If you have an object stuck between your teeth, gently floss to try to dislodge the object. Do not try any other methods to remove the object as this can damage your teeth. Call our office if you cannot remove the object. We can stop your tooth pain and discomfort and also protect your teeth and gums.
Broken Dental Restorations
If you have a broken dental crown, dental bridge, or denture, please bring the appliance with you to our office. Do not try to place the restoration back in your mouth, as this can damage your natural teeth or gums. We will help plan a new restoration for you in order to create a comfortable, healthy smile.
